However, if you're looking for an unapologetic anti-hero who makes no excuses for his ruinous and ruthless pursuit of a girl who only wants to be free of her current misery and dysfunction in the form of her parents, only to unknowingly catch the eye of the natural disaster that is Roman Winterbourne, than please pull up a chair and bring a stiff drink with you, because baby brother Roman makes Richard look like a smidgen of scintilla saner.I read this book in a few hours. I absolutely couldn't put it down at all; I went to the store it went with me, I cooked dinner, it went with me, I went to the res….well you get it. I screamed, I yelled…I gasped, and my next-door neighbor now thinks I'm a nutter. I finished this book in the wee hours of the morning on a Sunday, and for a week after, it stayed with me. Zoe Blake is a fantastic writer; she doesn't just give you a story or a book but an experience that will introduce you to music, art, and design in the world of rarefied riches and luxury.This book is a keeper even if you haven't read the first three books in the series, which I highly recommend that you do; Zoe crafted the story so well that it can be read as a standalone, but again don't cheat yourself; READ ALL THE BOOKS you'll never meet any characters like the Winterbourne/Payne men.
