“Handbook for Praying Scripture” by William Varner has become my favorite book for praying. He has done an excellent job with well thought out sections that are very practical and highly effective. I also love the LSB translation.My favorite section is “Praying Scripture for a Month”. He walks you through adoration, thanksgiving, confession, affirmation, the disciples prayer, petition, intercession, and benediction. Each category has a scripture, followed by a prompt for prayer inspired by the scripture you just read.Other sections of the book include praying scripture for a week, prayers from church history, prayers for Christian holidays, and prayers for the Christian life.I have already gifted this book and recommend to many others, all of whom have said it has changed their prayer life.I pray this book is a blessing.
